About Us

Over 150 Years of Flowers

Evans Flowers has been part of the North Shore since 1875. That's more than a century and a half of weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, funerals, new babies, thank-yous, and every other moment that deserves something beautiful. We're family-founded and still family-run, and we intend to keep it that way.

A lot has changed since we opened our doors on Warren Street. A lot hasn't.

Where We Started

When Evans Flowers first opened in 1875, our property included 15 working greenhouses and a barn that housed the delivery carriage — and the horses that pulled it. Flowers were grown on-site, loaded onto the carriage, and delivered across Peabody and beyond. It was a different era, but the idea was the same as it is today: grow something beautiful and get it to the people who need it.

The greenhouses are mostly gone now, but one original structure still stands. We've repurposed it as part of our retail shop, where it houses an ever-changing collection of plants. It's the oldest part of what we do, and we've kept it running on purpose. Some things are worth holding onto.

What We Do

We make flowers for real life — which means weddings and funerals, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day, corporate lobbies and kitchen tables. We do large-scale event florals for some of the most memorable weddings on the North Shore, and we also make the arrangement someone grabs on a Tuesday because they felt like it. Both matter to us equally.

Our buyers source fresh flowers constantly, working with trusted suppliers and local farms whenever possible. When you order from us, you're not getting something that's been sitting in a warehouse. You're getting what's beautiful and at its peak right now.

The People Behind the Flowers

We're a small team with deep roots in this community. Many of us have been here for years. Some of our customers have been coming in for generations. We know the regulars. We remember the weddings. We know which grandmother always gets peonies and which office buys roses for every retirement party.

That kind of familiarity doesn't happen at a big-box store. It happens because we show up, year after year, and we actually care about what we put out the door.
