Can You Order Wedding Flowers Last Minute? Yes — Here's How
Share
The timeline for wedding planning is supposed to go like this: book the venue a year out, find your florist six months ahead, finalize everything a few weeks before the big day.
But life doesn't always follow the script. Maybe you got engaged last month and you're getting married next month. Maybe your original florist fell through. Maybe you eloped on short notice and realized you still really, really want flowers. Maybe you just didn't get around to it and now the wedding is in two weeks.
Whatever brought you here — good news. We can help.
How Far in Advance Do You Actually Need to Order Wedding Flowers?
At most florists, the answer is three to six months. That lead time exists for good reasons: sourcing specific flowers, coordinating with other vendors, securing your date, doing design consultations.
But not every wedding needs all of that. And not every couple has six months.
At Evans Flowers, we offer à la carte wedding flowers with as little as one week of lead time. For many last-minute requests, we can do even better than that — just call us and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
What "À La Carte" Means
À la carte means you order exactly what you need — nothing more, nothing less.
You don't have to buy a full package. You don't have to meet a minimum. If all you need is a bridal bouquet and two boutonnieres, that's what we'll make. If you need a full ceremony arbor and centerpieces for fifteen tables, we can do that too.
It's wedding flowers on your terms.
The Process: A 30-Minute Consult and a Quote
Here's how it works:
1. We talk for about 30 minutes. In person at the shop or by phone — your choice. We'll ask about the look you're going for, your color palette, what pieces you need, whether you have any inspiration photos, and what your timeline is.
2. We send you a quote. Based on that conversation, we put together a clear, itemized quote for exactly what you asked for. No surprises.
3. You approve it and we get to work. Your flowers are made fresh in our shop by our team, delivered or ready for pickup when you need them.
That's it. No months-long back-and-forth, no elaborate planning process unless you want one.
What You Can Order Last Minute
Most à la carte pieces can be arranged on a tight timeline:
- Bridal bouquet — our most common last-minute request and something we do beautifully, every day
- Boutonnieres and corsages — quick to make, meaningful to give
- Bridesmaid bouquets — one, a few, or however many you need
- Ceremony arbor or chuppah — yes, even these can often be arranged with a week's notice if you call us
- A simple ceremony arrangement — something for the altar or a focal point
- Flower girl crown or petals
- Cake flowers — loose blooms to place on your cake day-of
What We Need From You
The less time we have, the more helpful it is if you can give us a clear picture of what you want. A few inspiration photos go a long way. Knowing your color palette — even roughly — helps us work fast.
We won't ask you to make decisions you're not ready to make. But the clearer you can be, the smoother it goes.
Don't Assume It's Too Late
The most common thing we hear from last-minute couples is some version of: "I wasn't sure if it was even worth calling."
It's always worth calling. The worst we can say is that we can't make a particular date work — and even then, we'll try to point you in the right direction.
Call us at 978-531-0047 or stop by 49 Warren Street in Peabody. We'll figure out what's possible.
